Jazz Mess Music
Why do we tend to be so tidy?
I read a funny article awhile back in the Chicago Tribune.
It had to do with the crews that pick up trash, etc. after concerts at Ravinia. If a rock band plays a show it will sometimes take the clean up crew literally all night to pick up all the trash in and around the venue. Big mess. Same thing goes for jazz events, etc.
But the pick up after a CSO concert might take 'em 45 minutes...tops!
What is it about us "classical folks" that makes us so tidy?
I tend to be that way as do most other classical fans I know. There must be a reason.
Why does symphonic music and tidiness tend to go hand in hand? Why don't we make as big a mess as other concertgoers?

Except that the CSO concerts at Ravinia are held outside.
Because people who listen to classical music also tend to consider others. Also, the music itself has a tidiness that is probably what draws us to it. People who like classical music tend to like things in an orderly state. They just don't like the mess that is jazz or rock (not saying they don't listen to those two forms but you know what I mean)
