Cold Cave is an experimental synthpop musical group that began in Philadelphia and is now based in Manhattan. According to Pitchfork Media the band's sound "weaves incomprehensibly distorted vocals with bits of synthetic feedback", but some songs "also come bearing serious hooks." The group was founded by Wesley Eisold, former vocalist of several hardcore groups including Some Girls, American Nightmare and Give up the Ghost, and also the founder of publisher Heartworm Press. The group represents his first venture into instrumentation. Though a solo project, it now includes additional live members and collaborators: Caralee McElroy, and Dominick Fernow (Prurient). After initial releases on Hospital Productions, What's Your Rupture?, and Heartworm Press, the band is now signed to Matador Records. who re-released their debut LP, Love Comes Close on November 3, 2009. It was recently announced that the band have been chosen by Matt Groening to perform at the edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival he is curating in May 2010 in Minehead, England.

Cold Cave's Band members are Wesley Eisold, Caralee McElroy, Dominick Fernow.

Cold Cave are set to tour Europe this May, beginning their journey at the Matt Groening-curated ATP Festival before traversing the UK and European continent and finishing proceedings at Barcelona's excellent Primavera Sound festival.

To coincide the New York based trio will release live favourite 'Life Magazine' as a 12" featuring a number of high profile guest remixes. In the meantime you can check out the official promo video below. Directed by Aaron Brown and Ben Chappell (Focus Creeps) it stars Marti Domination, star of Matthew Barney's 'Cremaster' (she played Goodyear) and main protagonist on the cover sleeve of Cold Cave's Love Come Close.
