Schubert Franz Music

The romance of the music
Romanticism was the music of Western civilization in the 19th century. Some of the most notable composers of the time were romantic Beethoven, Berlioz, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Schubert, Chopin and Wagner. Beethoven is the most difficult to place because much of his previous compositions were in the classical style, while his later compositions were romantic. The ultimate goal of romantic music was the freedom of design to achieve high scope to express human emotion through music.
Romantic music is based on the classical music or music written in classic. Romantic composers did not try to deviate from classical form, but to manipulate the rules to create more expressive and passionate music. The structure of the classical form was very strict and limiting what the composer could do musically. The Romantics appreciated the way, but it broke the limits adding or sections of music that normally would not be allowed. Beethoven, for example, was the leader of the separation of the classical form and tradition. In his polemic Symphony No. 9, Beethoven introduced vocalists and a chorus in its final movement. In the classical form, this has not been allowed. If a piece that began as an instrumental piece, which was to stay and end up as an instrumental.
Romanticism not only treat the limits of the classical form, but also changed the shape of the orchestra. Since the musical range of further work, the greater size of the orchestra with the addition of new instruments and larger sections. The tuba has been added to the brass section. New valves for wind instruments were introduced and are used to more flexible instruments sound. Section string was extended to emphasize the richness and dramatic sound of the strings. Bongos and other unconventional percussion instruments were added to the orchestra.
Another aspect of romantic music that was separated from its predecessor was its integration of literature and art pieces. This is called Music Program, or music that tells a story. There are three types of program music, the programmatic symphony, the concert overture and symphonic poem.
The symphony program is characterized by a recurring theme, as in Berlioz's Fantastic Symphony, where a young man dreams about a woman who comes in the form of a melody that is repeated in your mind indefinitely. The opening concert is a part of a planned move to a performance at a concert. An example would be Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, or Romeo and Juliet. The last type is the symphonic poem. The symphonic poem was invented by the Romantic composer Franz Liszt. It is a one movement piece for orchestra, but the main theme is transformed (thematic transformation) in the state of mind and character. The piece that introduced this type of program music was Hamlet.
Two popular forms of music during the Romantic era were suites and waltzes. Suites were related parts assembled into a representation of a work, such as Lake Swans Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. The waltz was the most popular dance in the nineteenth century, as composers responded to the demand and produced many.
The main features of the Romantic era are the dramatic contrasts of dynamics and tone, large orchestra (due mainly bronze), freedom of emotional expression powerful, new way and how the recurrence and transformation of the issues and nationalism.
