Different Kinds of Lightning!
A friend of mine told me that lightning comes from the ground. That it moves so fast that it only looks like it's moving downward. Naturally, I told him he was nuts. So I looked it up. Did you know there were so many types of lightning? The one he was talking about its called "ground-to-cloud lightning". I looked it up on Wikipedia to blast him, and learned something instead. Never underestimate people. He was wrong but still, so was I ... ;-)

Ground-to-cloud lightning
Ground-to-cloud lightning is a lightning discharge between the ground and a cumulonimbus cloud from an upward-moving leader stroke.
Cloud-to-ground
Cloud-to-ground lightning is a great lightning discharge between a cumulonimbus cloud and the ground initiated by the downward-moving leader stroke. This is the second most common type of lightning, and poses the greatest threat to life and property of all known types.
