World of Darkness - Save Electricity 9/17
On September 17, 2008 from 21:50 to 22:00 hours. (9.50pm - 10pm)
We need to switch off all lights and if possible all electrical appliances, so that our planet can 'breathe'.
If the response is massive, energy saving can be achieved.
Yes, so we go 10 minutes in the dark.. we do it for blackouts all the time (especially in Trinidad). Just sit, and light a candle and simply enjoy the moment you are giving back to OUR planet.
Remember that we can achieve anything and with the help of the internet, we can get this message out there.
Please spread the news and let us give back to our planet.

It seems people are wondering when they should turn off their electricity if they are on the other side of the world. Here is the world clock.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html?year=2008&month=8&day=20&hour=2&min=30&sec=0&p1=137
Fill out the time and place where to converting from and you'll find out when it would be YOUR time. :)
For those who are curious as to HOW this helps saves energy :
Saving electricity doesn't just save money, it also saves the planet. Lots of folks are unaware of that. After all, when you plug something into the wall, it seems clean enough -- you don't see or smell any pollution, like you do with your car. But the pollution is there -- it just happens at the power plant. Most electricity is generated by burning coal and running nuclear power plants. Every time you turn on the lights, you create a little pollution. So saving electricity doesn't just put money in your pocket, it helps keep the air and water clean, too.
