My latest track - What U Saiyan? (Dubstep)

A little while ago I told you about one of my new favorite songs called, "The Times" by 2562.

This is my answer to that song:

More Inga Ambrosia music on iLike

Keep in mind this is my first attempt at dubstep. It took me 20 hours to complete this song. In that time, I've listened to dozens of songs to figure out the genre. Maybe 10 more hours of research on wikipedia, youtube, forums, websites and this is what I came up with. It still has my flavor in it, which is lasers, guitar, animal sounds, effects and big percussion. Enjoy!

My Vegan dream about Oprah! What does it mean?

I literally just woke up from a dream about Oprah that I have to write down before I forget.

It starts with me on stage at the Oprah show, and I'm a guest - or what I don't know. She tells the audience (and Gayle who is on stage too) that there is this restaurant called Trattoire that is so amazing. It's in the oddest place and everyone should order the "Do Nothing" plate. Gayle says the last time she went there she got it and it was amazing. She wouldn't tell us what it meant, she just wanted the camera crew to follow us there.

We (the 3 of us, Oprah, Me and Gayle) are beamed to the restaurant's location. We are walking down a corridor and onto a standing escalator. That's the best way to describe it. Have you ever seen Toy Soldiers, anyway it descends vertically, not diagonally. There is a host stand, we breeze past that and sit down. The whole place is dark red wood, the table is glass and the owner walks us to the table and takes our order.

Apparently, you're not allowed to wear shoes at the table because the owner takes your order under the table, while you're both lying down. By the way, we are also eating with 3 other women, triplets and the owner looks just like them. While she's under the table she says, 'Oh you have to put your shoes in the alleyway - just go ask the host'. I apologize and walk over to the host, I keep looking back because I want them to explain the 'Do Nothing Platter' before they order it for me because I don't know if its vegan or not. I feel that Oprah knows I'm vegan and will not let them feed me anything unsavory.

I walk over to the host stand and take off my shoes, then realize I'm wearing two different kinds of shoes, one short boot and one long boot. I'm also wearing a long skirt which hid this from me until now. I ask the hostess for the alleyway and she points upstairs, so I take the strange escalator back upstairs. I walk down the corridor and reach outside very quickly. Then I realize we are in an apartment building of a slum, there are people outside on the sidewalk waiting to catch the bus. Lots of people. They are freezing cold, I have my shoes off and my skirt just got really short so the breeze is flying up to my - you know wheres.

I keep looking for this alleyway, but can't find it. I ask a guy that's walking by where is the alleyway. He said the only one is called Alleyway #13, and its 25 blocks that way. I look at him like, No! There has to be another one. I told him the restaurant told me to put my shoes there. He was shocked to know there was a fancy restaurant in this slummy building. So I took him there. I walked up to the host and said, ":Listen, there is no alleyway, you're holding my shoes and that's it." She didn't contest that. I take his hand and walk him back over to Oprah's table, and hopefully he can eat with us.

As we walk to Oprah's table, her table gets farther and farther away. When I stop walking it stays put. I try a few more times, then I realize I'm not allowed back there with my new guest. Since I don't know any of them, and I don't like how they owner treated me, I tell the guy let's eat by ourselves.

The hostess walks us to a new table, smaller but quiet in the corner, the glass table has a cloth on it, a candle, and it cozier. He smiles big because he didn't believe there was a restaurant here. The hostess takes our order and asks us if we want the 'Do Nothing Plate'. I said, "What is that finally?" She said, Gayle is eating it and its basically a sample of all the food being made in the kitchen. You get a couple tablespoons of everything from your guests plate, and when you're done with that, another plate full of samples from another table, until you say stop. I thought that was sick!

I told her me and the guest were vegan, I didn't even ask him, and she said there is a Do Nothing platter just for vegans, but we just get samples prepared just for us. We thought that was cool ... As soon as the plate arrived, which was the size of a fruit and vegetable platter - I woke up ...

What the hell does it mean? If you read all this, please decode it for me ... :)

Inspirational Message

Sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away that they were meant to be there,
they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson
or help figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be;
your roommate, your neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover
or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with them,
you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you
and at the time they seem horrible, painful and unfair,
but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles
you would never have realized your potential, strength, will power of heart.

Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments or true greatness and sheer stupidity
all occur to test the limits of the soul.

Without these small tests,
if they be events, illnesses or relationships,
life would be like a smooth paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life and successes and downfalls you experience,
they are the ones who create who you are.
Even the bad experience can be learned from...
Those lessons are the hardest and probably the most important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart...
forgive them,
for they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you,
love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you,
but because they are teaching you to love
and opening your heart and eyes to things
you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count.
Appreciate every moment
and take from it everything that you possibly can,
for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before,
and actually listen,
let yourself fall in love,
break free and set your sights high.

You can make of your life anything you wish.
Create your own life and then go out and live it.

Abolition of Speciesism - Facebok Group

Abolition of Speciesism

This group considers all sentient beings -regardless their species- as morally relevant i.e. persons.

Day after day we are exposed to speciesist ('speciesism' is the opposite to 'veganism') propaganda, most of which we ignore. Speciesist propaganda tells us we should consider any being who is not human as a 'thing', an 'object', a 'commodity', a 'merchandise'.

Just as veganism rejects the belief that nonhuman animals are "property" or "commodities", speciesism promotes that belief.

Speciesism (definition): System, law, actions and/or sayings that consider only those animals of the human species i.e. Homo-Sapiens as 'persons' or 'subjects', being everyone else i.e. all nonhuman animals considered as a means to the ends of human beings.

http://AbolitionOfSpeciesism.tk

THE THREE SPHERES REPRESENT:

*Orange: Human and Nonhuman Animal Rights (sentience-based rights instead of species-based rights).

*Green: Go Vegan (don't use animals).

*Black: Abolition of Speciesism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speciesism).

Lindsay Lohan gets Owned!

You know what! I like Samantha Ronson, she's a female DJ - I'm biased, but Lindsay can do a little better than what she's doing. She is a fashion icon to young girls. When people wear fur and they are famous, it trickles down to the trend-following masses, and they buy fur so they can copy the look. Can they afford real fur, probably not - but it does continue an apathetic attitude toward the cruelty of animals. Do I feel sorry for Lindsay - yes - because I'm sure that ruined her night, am I mad at the activist - no - only because she did what she thought was right. I'd rather ruin Lindsay's night than take an animal's life.

The solution is easy - stop wearing fur, leather, wool, suede and silk. It's not like they're asking her to be vegan...

Vegan Cheese Reviews

Personally, I don't do vegan cheese. Me no likey! I never found one that made me really want to have it on a regular basis. It reminds me of real cheese which I find disgusting so, same way I feel about veggie beef or veggie pork (blek!) It's psychological - that is clear to me.

Anyway, here is blog that reviews some vegan cheese for ya:

http://comfortfoodvegan.blogspot.com/2008/11/vegan-cheese-reviews.html

For those of you that think vegan cheese doesn't melt, try spraying oil on it, that used to do the trick for me. :)

fingerprinted
stamp in winter
warm and wordy way back when
disappointments
love is faulty
her mystery is still within him
london bridges
empty laughter
come to her when it's ended
she'll be sitting
on a bench
speaking into the wind
words are spoken
hearts unbroken

I Voted Today!!!!

I decided to not take advantage of early voting because I wanted to actually vote on Election Day. Silly ... I know. I got up this morning and went to the polls near my house. There was virtually NO line.

My father gave me a card to help me with the voting process. I didn't agree with all the suggestions on the card. I made my own choices. In the past I've voted on a machine, this one was bubble in. Not a fan of bubble in. It was confusing because they put Spanish and French on the ballot at the same time. I almost didn't vote on the opposite side because it just looked like the back of most forms ... extra unnecessary info. Only when I looked down on the "help card" did I realize that I never saw any amendments to vote on.

There were lots of older people in wheelchairs trying to vote. The polling people weren't very helpful with that. Sad.

One man came up behind me and said, "I know you're voting for McCain, right?" Then, he kept chanting McCain on the side of me. Why do I attract the loonies like fly paper?

It took me an extremely long time to fill out the ballot. I'm a techie, a nerd ... I don't like paper. When I finally finished, I asked the woman what to do now. She sent me to a machine that eats my ballot in a big slurp. That was it ... I was done. Took about 20 minutes total.

Then we went to Starbucks to get our free coffee. My dad was wearing this big red hat with Obama on it. Some McCain followers looked at us weird. Cool. I got to the front of the counter and asked for my free coffee w/soy milk. I was excited because I usually pay $4.02. I tipped the guy a dollar, what the hell. Got outside and realized that I had regular Roast coffee. Went back inside and got my Grande Soy Latte anyway. Have I been had? Now, I've paid $5.02 for my coffee. Whatever ...

I went outside to drink my coffee and this little doggie (above) had a sticker on his/her head that said, "I Voted Today!" That made my day...

Me and my father got into a discussion about who I voted for. I told him I didn't know until today who I was voting for. That upset him ... he said that I'm a racist. Ha! A reverse racist. Uh No ... I'd rather vote for the Green Party and call it a day.

I'm thinking of going to a Victory Party tonight, stay tuned, yeah?

2 different kindsof vegan?

Media Credit: Photos.com

When I tell people I'm a vegan, I get a wide variety of reactions. Generally, the questions include things like, "why?" "Don't you miss cheeseburgers?" But I am here to clear the air and, hopefully, shed some light on this dietary decision.

Let me first start of by saying I am a big believer that people should do what's right from them, not what anyone else believes is right. This also holds true when people decide what to nourish their own bodies with. I have no problem with people eating meat if that's what is best for them morally and physically. I'm a server at a steakhouse, so really, who am I to look down on anyone for consuming it?

********************
There are two kinds of vegans, aggressive and passive. This woman is passive. She just cares about her own life choices, not the choices of others. She is not a vegan evangelist. She works in a steakhouse and that doesn't compromise her morals. For me, that's not an option. You must understand that some vegans don't care about recruiting other people to be vegan. They are absent-minded to the cruelty and suffering of animals. To them, veganism is a personal choice, and the accept anyone who is the exact opposite. Oh well, life is full of yin and yang.

Obama Rally Miami Photos

I went to the Obama Rally last night. We got there around 3:30 p.m. There was a winding line and we just so happened to get in the front of the line by asking some guy a question about the line. He didn't know which was the end or the beginning. Anyway, we got through and passed all the vendors selling $5 shirts, $10 shirts, 2 for $5 buttons. It was overwhelming. Every couple of feet people were asking us to volunteer to get signatures for different causes. One lady got really aggressive and followed me for 50 feet asking me to help pregnant teens. I was hot, sticky, hungry and not interested, not now anyway. Residually, another woman asked a few minutes later. I didn't even turn around for her. She got really angry and said, "I'm just trying to help Obama!" I still didn't turn around. I thought she walked away, she didn't. She added, "You know some people have the nastiest attitudes and it makes my job much harder." Sweetie, I'm sure you've been ignored before - don't take it personally. I'm sorry I upset her but maybe she should find another job, where her feelings can be protected. I just was sick of people bum rushing me 10 times in 30 minutes - nothing personal.

We got to the steps and waited for them to open up the metal detector area. A man on a bullhorn said that if you have a blue ticket, you can skip this line. Woohoo, we had a blue ticket because we registered online. We mosied on over to the "special line" and I had my pursed molested, by a woman thank goodness.

It was so hot, I thought I would faint. I sat down near the stage and waited for the peace van to arrive. Several officials got up to speak, but the closer you were to the stage, the less you could see or hear. They had music going, bands, food, drinks etc. In the meantime, I took photos of all the different races of people who showed up to support Obama. It was a mixed bag. Black, white, hispanic, indian, jewish, asian ... everybody. That part was really cool.

When Obama arrived, everyone started pushing and shoving, getting out their cameras. Adults and children sat on people's shoulders to get a better look. There was an abnormal distribution of really tall people there, over 6'3". I still got some good shots and video.

It got very chaotic after about 10 minutes, so we decided to leave. As we headed for the exit, the people further back could hear everything and see much more than those in the front. Ironically.

The exit - what exit. The large crowds of people still waited to get in was insane. I've never seen so many people in my life - other than in the Miami Arena. These were the 5 o'clockers. We waited for 15 minutes to be let out, because the people coming in blocked the exit. I was behind a woman in a wheelchair. I actually saw someone climb over her. I'm happy we left when we did because 30,000 people trying to leave sounds like a nightmare.

It was amazing and I'm glad I got to share that with my daddy. :)

Someone sent this to me - it's so true! :)

Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.

Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.
Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.
You can only go as far as you push.
Actions speak louder than words.
The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love somebody else.
Don't let the past hold you back; you're missing the good stuff.
Life's short. If you don't look around once in a while, you might miss it.
A best friend is like a four leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.
If you think that the world means nothing, think again. You might mean the world to someone else.
When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there
True friendship never ends.
Friends are forever.
Good friends are like stars....You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Don't frown. You never know who is falling in love with your smile.
What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the person who made you cry?
NOBODY IS PERFECT UNTIL YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM. (Isn't that the truth?)
Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end.
Most people walk in and out of you life.
But only friends leave footprints in your heart

Happy World Vegetarian Day - Go Vegan for 30 days!!!!

Hello Beautiful Souls,

As you know, I'm a vegan, not a vegetarian. Going vegan is usually the next step after someone takes meat out of their diets. Eggs, milk, cheese and butter are not that great and should be easy to give up too. Eggs are gross, milk has puss and blood in it, and butter is disgusting!

If you need help, please email me. The animals will thank you, and your body will be deliriously happy and healthy. Muah!!

Water, Water Everywhere - Saturday, Sept. 27

"Water, Water Everywhere” presented by FEF, The Raleigh Hotel and VeeV acai
Saturday, September 27th, 2008 7pm-10pm

FEF is introducing itself to the public at The Raleigh Hotel, 1775 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Experience how the local community is going green in a hip new way, and expect surprises throughout the evening.
The location is exceptionally relevant due to the hotel's ‘green’ efforts. The hotel’s owner, Andre Balazs Properties, is on a track to “green” its two Miami Beach Boutique Hotels under the guidelines of the Florida Green Lodging Program, created by Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection.

Eco- friendly cocktails, courtesy of VeeV will kick off the night - serving complimentary drinks. Meadow, a local eco-chic designer, will graciously display her organic bikinis during the eco-fashion show along with Miami’s well-known Ecoist handbags and accessories. Fertile Earth Foundation will conduct an exciting drawing for an essential product that is used in all homes and businesses; as well as an Ecoist bag. This surprise product constitutes one of the main water consumption products in a home and business.

An exclusive screening of the movie One Water will commence at 9.30pm under the breathtaking backdrop of Miami's sky. It was produced, co-directed and written by Sanjeev Chaterjee (Exec. Director at the Knight Center for International Media and the Vice Dean of the School of Communications, UM), edited and co-directed by Ali Habashi, music composed by Thomas Sleeper and director of photography was Ed Talavera. It took place in 15 countries over the time span of 5+ years illustrating the ways in which each culture acquires and uses water. One Water won two awards at the Broadcast Education Association and has been screened at United Nations conferences two years in a row.

As a fresh complement to the evening’s festivities, FEF is proud to host special guest and “Ambassador to the Sea” Daniell Washington, a recent U of Miami Marine Science and Biology graduate. Daniell is the national, $10,000.00 winner of the Roxy Follow Your Heart Tour presented by Schick® Quattro for Women®. Daniell will use her winnings to jumpstart her own children’s TV show geared to educating children on marine preservation and conservation as well as to initiate a Marine Education Tour for Kids nationwide.
