Is veganism a religion?

zootheism
1. The belief that an animal is a god and the worship of that animal.
2. The attribution of a deity to animals.
Worshipers are bowing down to a golden bull which is a form of zootheism.
People are worshiping a golden bull which is just one example of many similar zootheistic religions from the past and in the present.

You could say I worship animals. I sure don't sacrifice them. What does it mean if veganism is a religion? Well, let's see.

Here is 'Inga Ambrosia's Vegan 10 Commandments':

1. Thou shalt not eat animals for food.
2. Thou shalt not use animals for clothing or upholstery.
3. Thou shalt not harm animals for medical or cosmetic testing.
4. Thou shalt not feed animals to children or the elderly.
5. Thou shall adopt, rescue and rehabilitate stray animals.
6. Thou shall recycle, reduce, reuse, refurbish, return, revitalize natural resources.
7. Thou shall fight for animal and human rights in the face of adversity.
8. Thou shall peacefully convert as many people as you can to a healthier lifestyle.
9. Thou shall speak up when vegans are portrayed in a negative light.
10. Thou should meditate, work out, cook, sleep well and thank Mother Nature every day.

Just like the other commandments, some are missing but you know what they are.

Have a terrific weekend... =)
