Kacey's Artist Statement:

A single word, smell or sound can bring back a memory that has been dormant in my mind for years, but it is so fleeting and delicate that I don't know if it actually happened in my subconscious or in reality. I use bubbles mixed with ink to stain the paper because they themselves are delicate. Underlying the stain and drawing, I intuitively write about the memory. I draw into the stains, using the memory as a source, pulling from it the environment where it occurred and the thoughts and feelings that it invokes. The actual process of making the art is my way of working through this tiny echo of a memory that could have never even happened. Writing about the memory, treating the paper with ink and finally executing it with graphite is a way for me to savor one single moment in time and wonder why this memory that seems so insignificant is being brought back to my thoughts.

Veg Band - Rise Against Has Something To Say To America!

Chicago hardcore group Rise Against have never been afraid to take a social stance -- both in their songs and on a personal level. Accordingly, while keeping alive the old-school tradition of punk music as an instrument of political change, they make it a point to walk it like they talk it -- the band members are fervent animal-rights activists, to cite one example. Lead singer Tim McIlrath, who takes very seriously his responsibility as an American to voice his opinion that the nation should live up to its ideals, has listed five ways in which he believes the government and the American people have not kept up their end of the bargain. Video of the day #4

VJ's and DJ's have an incredible power to disperse energy, positive or negative, throughout a crowd. It is a power which should not be abused or manipulated. Personally, as a DJ, if I do not leave my listeners feeling inspired, then I'm nothing more than a human CD player.

My motto is, "Music Makes My Mood!"

To all the DJ's out there, take a closer look at your playlist, the lyrics, the vibe you're creating. Is it really what you want to say? Even if it's one song. The energy and mood generated when the artist made the song, is being channeled through you.

Energy doesn't go away, it is either transferred or transformed.

Let's use our channeling powers to create mellow vibes and welcome equilibrium, for ourselves and our "followers". Peace ...

Save INTERNET RADIO!! Pllleeeaassee

If you live and breathe Internet Radio like I do,
you'll want to visit
http://www.savenetradio.org

A bullying royalty rate hike, scheduled for
May 15, is threatening
the existence of Internet Radio.

What I'm listening to right now ...
Groove Salad - SomaFM
Listen to it with me @ http://somafm.com/

Let's do what we can to support these folks! ;-)

SaveNetRadio Coalition

The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on May 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. Internet radio needs your help! H.R. 2060, The Internet Radio Equality Act was introduced by Representatives Jay Inslee (D-WA) and Donald Manzullo (R-IL ) to save the Internet radio industry. Please call your congressperson to ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 2060 by clicking below.
