Vegan Parents Could Lose Custody of Quintuplets
Tampa, Florida — Two Florida parents are fighting for custody of their quintuplets — thought to be the first born in the Tampa Bay area.
The quints are now ten years old.
According to Hillsborough County court files, Gayle and Jeff Nelson-Folkerson are both fighting for primary custody of the five children.
Among the issues to be discussed in court next month is the quints' diet. Their father alleges that their mother imposes a strict vegan diet. Vegans don't eat meat, eggs or dairy. But Jeff Nelson-Folkerson isn't alleging that the children are malnourished or unhealthy.
A court-appointed psychologist is evaluating the children.
